dear matt, I used samba wood and wood okoumè to cover the surfboard. at the top I used a 6 mm thickness, while I used thicknesses from 8 mm in the bottom, to create the concave. the plywood wood is too heavy, while Pawlonia wood and balsa wood are lightweight and are perfect for the construction of a hollow surfboard.
